The Kansas Contractors Association-Political
Action Committee (KCA-PAC) is at the forefront of the association's political
action services.

The association assists members in meeting
federal requirements, who do not participate in a labor-management apprenticeship
program, by offering its "Manpower Development and Training Program" to
train women and minorities in trainee slots on federal-aid highway projects.

The current public relations theme of the
association is "Rebuilding
Kansas", and signs and bumper stickers
are available at cost through the
state office.

The Kansas Contractors Association has
developed a proactive legislative program with specific goals and action
plans to protect and promote the heavy, highway and utility construction
industry.

The association continually emphasizes job site safety. The KCA helps members establish a safety program, provides materials for toolbox safety talks, offers safety workshops and answers specific questions about OSHA and other regulations.
