The report was released during a news conference in the Senate Chambers of the Kansas State Capitol. Carolyn Bonifas, TRIP's Associate Director of Research and Communication, presented the findings of the report at the news conference. Mary Turkington, co-chair of the board of Economic Lifelines, addressed the report's findings. Secretary Miller provided comment as well.

The news conference was called by Economic Lifelines, which lobbies for highway funding, and a group called TRIP, which promotes transportation projects.

In announcing the news conference, Economic Lifelines said, “Kansas faces a significant transportation funding gap over the next 10 years, which will not only impede efforts to improve roads and other infrastructures, but will also limit the potential for economic recovery.”
