Support Workforce Development

Join other KCA members in the important task of workforce development within the construction industry. Support the KC3 Construction Learning Center at the 2008 Kansas State Fair. We invite you to become a sponsor of the 10-day exhibit which attracts young people and their parents from around the state. Your financial support and volunteer hours will help make this an even better event as we promote the construction industry to the future workforce.

Become a sponsor or volunteer to share information about the industry with children, youth and their parents. Let them know there are good jobs within the construction industry and a demand for their skills and abilities.

The 7,500 square foot KC3 Construction Learning Center exhibit features free, educational, hands-on activities for kids of all ages, parents and the general public. We need your help to spread the word to these young people.

One of the top priorities of the KC3, Kansas Contractors Association and AGC of Kansas is to attract new workers to the industry and this project is one means of meeting this objective.

Fall KCA Days - Wichita
September 25 & 26, 2008

Join us for Fall KCA Days in Wichita. This event attracts members from the heavy, highway adn utility construction companies, KDOT, KDHE, KCC as well as consulting engineers and special guests. The Thursday afternoon schedule will include educational programs and partnering sessions. The focus of the program is on the next long range transportation program in Kansas. Program speaker is Kansas Lobbyist Pat Hurley, who represents the highway construction lobbying organization Economic Lifelines.

Elected officials have also been invited as our special guests. We have extended invitations to Senator Pat Roberts, Congressman Jerry Moran and Congressman Jim Slattery. We hope their schedules allow them to share insight regarding the status of the federal transportation plan.

Friday morning will be dedicated to a golf event at the Auburn Hills Golf Course. 7:30 registration and an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start. Mark your calendar now for the 25th and 26th of September and watch for additional details to be posted soon.

associations. Members of the Kansas Contractors Association, Kansas Ready Mixed Concrete Association and Kansas Aggregate producers' Association invite you to attend this informative day long event in Overland Park.
